Michaelides
I am currently a graduate student pursuing
an M.S degree in Electrical Engineering.
I graduated from Higher Technical Institute
in Cyprus and transfered to UofA as an undergraduate
student. Following completion of my BSc in
Electrical Engineering I started my M.S degree
here in Spring 06.
My research activities involve data analysis
of fluorescence measurements of ovarian tissue
samples to create a diagnostic test for ovarian
cancer. My goal is not only to create the
diagnostic test, but also identify which
fluorophores are important in cancer detection
using parallel factor analysis.
Some of my other interests are robotics,
system control and microprocessor programming.
Check out some of my past projects and some
photos from the IEEE 2006 micromouse competition
in Las Vegas which I took part here.
We got the second place! (out of 2 teams)
